Atwill Park was given to the youth of Waimate by Mr Joe Atwill in 1946 and he charged the Scout Movement with the care and maintainance of this tranquil 20 acres situated only 8 kilometres from Waimate. It is a delightful setting, peaceful and private, surrounded by native bush and adjacent to the Hunter Hills, noted for the wallaby, execellent tramping and the Waimate Forest.
