When Christianity first came to these shores churches and chapels were often built upon the very site's of pagan worship in the hope of assimilating the old pagan followers into the new Christian Religion.
The mound on which St peter's stands (originally dedicated to St Nicholas from around the 12th century until the early 13th century) was probably one of these sites
Many of those sites were sacred groves where certain trees were seen to have special power chief among these were.
Yew, for Ancient wisdom and the Guardian to the gate of rebirth
Holly for Courage, Dream magic, Clear wisdom
Hazel for Intuition, Divination, Individuality and the power to find that which is hidden.
Blackthorn for Hope and Cleansing
Apple for love and healing
Hawthorn for Fertility, Happiness and the door to the other world
Rowan for the Highest pure magic and Protection against enchantment
Elder for regeneration and rebirth
And the greatest of all The Mighty Oak for Courage, Strength, Health, Solid Protection and Inner spiritual strength.
Congratulations to Sylv301264 on your FTF
