As the name suggests, Bruceton Mills once had a mill. The mill is long gone, but the old dam remains. The dam on the Big Sandy creates a long, narrow lake, Bruceton Mills Lake, behind it that is great to paddle on. Below the dam is often shallow water fun for adults and kids alike to fish and play in the warmer months. As of 2026, a WV swing has been placed at the location.
You will find the cache at a local business that prides itself on getting folks off land and on to Bruceton Mills Lake. Please be respectful of their property and their generosity in allowing this cache to be placed on their property. The cache is not in any landscaping and no cutting is required to retrieve.
