Geocache Description:

Geocaching Fraternity is cordially invited to a combined geocaching, Camping and CITO event in RUWAIS ON January 10,11 and 12th 2013
Kindly hosted by (AL DHAFRA GOLF LINKS) with camping . Optionally there is a hotel nearby for those that prefer

The last CITO event here was Jan 2010 and the beach is again in need of some TLC
The camping location is with-in the grounds of the Al Dhafra golf club and on the beach (above the high tide mark (grin) and there will be a chance to play on one of the best sand courses in the UAE. (What more can you ask – Golf AND geocaching – Wow)

The program is for a Long Weekend come for a little or as long as you want, but please confirm your intentions by posting a note.



THURSDAY
Arrive when you can. There is no lockout time and lighting will be provided at the camp site to aid in tent pitching for those who arrive after dark. (please let me know your eta).
  • Activities
  • 1800 - Beach walk - CITO and collect driftwood for camp fire.
  • 2000 - Light camp fire and Enjoy - Food is available at VERY reasonable prices in the nearby Club house or BYO-
  • 2100 - Swop Co-ords of the caches you planted on the way + TB swop .
FRIDAY
The golf course will be closed to none-members today due to a club competition.
  • Activities
  • Geocaching in the area finishing up at Hamra Beach cache GC19KM7 by about 1400 for a bring your own beach BBQ. (Cooking facilities and charcoal will be provided but as I'm no cook - cooking your own is a must.) If you plan on coming to this please say so.
  • 1700 - Return to Base - However for those that enjoy a sunset, I can confirm the sunsets at Hamra are well worth seeing.
  • 1900 - Showers will be available at the golf club and depending on numbers a fresh water hose can also be made available outside.
  • 2000 - Join in with ADGL competition presentation and social evening Dinner and drinks at preferential prices- or just cool out on the beach;- up to you....

SATURDAY
Morning - Option to play a round of golf or beach CITO for none golfers
Pack up camp and depart as and when you want. The club has no objection if you want to stay on longer, just let me know your plans.
Special note to the "Cachers of Qatar"
You would be MOST WELCOME and it's not so far to drive.

All participants are also encouraged to hide a new cache of their own on the way to the cache event. To encourage the fun on Friday the cache should be within 25 km of the event.
