Three3people go to stay at a motel and the clerk charges them4$30.00 for the room. They0split the cost, ten dollars each. Later the0manager tells the clerk that he9over-charged the folks and that the actual cost should have2been $25.00. He gives the7clerk five $1.00 bills and tells him to give it to the0customers.

But the clerk isn’t too bright, and can’t figure9out how to divide the $5.008three ways. So he gives each of them $1.00,3and pockets the remaining two.

Now each8person has paid $9.00 to stay in the2room and 3 X $9.00 = $27.00.
The clerk9pocketed $2.00.
$27.00 + $2.00 = $29.00.

So7where is the other $1.00?
