Geocache Description:

This is the focal point of recreational shopping for people for a long way around.
Cache is camo painted Eclipse mint tin with log book and pencil, includes a Falls Creek pin and car.
Resist the shopping temptations if you can, despite all that advertising over the road

Travelling the full 903 Smart Bus route in Melbourne will take a cacher in a large arc from Mordialloc through the south-eastern suburbs to Box Hill, Doncaster, Heidelberg, and then along Bell Street to Essendon and then to Sunshine and back to the bay at Altona.  The full trip from end to end by bus will take approx 4 hours.

The “Caching by 903 Bus” series of caches is intended as a set which will highlight some of the key points along this route, and take in a few other interesting sights and places along the route as well.

Initially, only the caches along the western half of the journey has been established, and are to be followed by the eastern half in subsequent months.

While the intent is to use the 903 bus if possible, most of the caches may be found individually by those who may not want to put in the time needed for the full trip.

So, get on the bus, get off at the appropriate stop, pick up the cache, and get back on the next bus to come along.  The wait is usually only about 15 minutes between each bus.
