Man nimmt an, dass die Tobelburg der erste Stammsitz der Edlen von Taufers war. Kurz nach 1200 erbaute man die heutige Burg Taufers am Eingang des Ahrntales, heute hoch über Sand in Taufers. Die Ruine der Tobelburg mit der Franz und Klara-Kapelle erreicht man, ausgehend vom Parkplatz in Winkl über den Franziskusweg. Die eindrucksvollen Reinbachwasserfälle und die Besinnungspunkte des Franziskusweges garantieren ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Der kürzeste Zugang zur Tobelburg ist vom Parkplatz ( N 46°55.100 E 11°59.625 ) an der Reinerstraße aus.

Si suppone che la Tobelburg sia stata la prima sede dei Nobili di Tures. Poco dopo il 1200 costruirono il castello attuale che si trova sopra Campo Tures all´ingresso della Valle Aurina. Per la Tobelburg si parte dal parcheggio a Winkl seguendo il Sentiero di S. Francesco. Le cascate meravigliose e i punti di meditazione del Sentiero di S. Francesco garantiscono un` esperienza indimenticabile. L`accesso piu´ breve per la Tobelburg si offre dal parcheggio ( N 46°55.100 E 11°59.625 ) sulla strada per Riva.

It is assumed that the „Toblburg“( a former ancient castle) was the ancestral seat of the noble Lords of “Taufers”, in the “Puster Valley” in South Tyrol. Shortly after the year 1200, right in between the rough times of the Middle Ages, the marvellous castle of “Taufers” was built at the entrance of the “Ahrntal”, (the Ahrn Valley, in South Tyrol, Italy). Today, the castle lies on top of the fabulous village, called “Sand in Taufers”. Nowadays, that gorgeous ruin of the “Toblburg”, with the great “Frank and Clara Chapel”, can be reached right from the parking area in a small settlement, called “Winkl”, going towards to destination “Franziskusweg”. The path is clearly marked, so you can‘t fail it. The imposing waterfalls of the “Reinbach” (the “Rein River”), and the impressing consciousness points of the “Franziskusweg”, will guarantee an unforgettable landscape experience. The shortest access to the Tobelburg is from the parking area ( N 46°55.100 E 11°59.625 ) situated at the Reiner Road.
