As geocachers who are always on the road, we appreciate the opportunity to find a cache when we shut down the truck for the night. We've decided to plant a few for our fellow geo-truckers, as well as any 4-wheeled travelers who want to stop and stretch as well.
This is one of the last big truck stops going north on I-81 through Virginia on the way in to DC, Baltimore and points north. It's in a picturesque location right next to a farm. It's an unexploded soda bottle, about 1 inch in diameter and 5 inches long. No pen, please bring your own writing utensil.
If you are not a trucker, park in the car parking area in front. You'll be under 500 feet from the cache, but PLEASE watch for truck traffic as you cross the driveway! They are constantly coming and going, and remember, they are WORKING. If you've got it, a truck brought it!
A big thank you to truck stop management for giving us permission to hide this cache. Please hide it the same way you found it so their maintenance/yard folks won't find it and take it for trash.
NOTE: if you are a local cacher who would be willing to assist us with maintenance on this cache, please email us through the geocaching website. We get through here a lot, but we'd like to have a backup just in case it's flagged and we're unable to drop by.
