Geocache Description:

Little G’s It’s All Relative Mind Blowers Series 1.5 Fifth in Series ( Keep Your Working)

It’s all relative – we established that the distances are involved are so great The time it takes light to get here we are looking back in time when we look at the night sky ( Mind Blowing )

Einstein came up with the theory of relativity and years later it was proven by seismic clocks and sub atomic particles to be correct

Easiest way to explain Giant Room travelling through space

If there was a giant room with a light in the middle If the bulb is switched on the light will hit walls A and B at the same time. So time is the same at A and B.

If the room moves to the right B moves away and A towards the light beam. The implications in a moving room are light will hit A in a shorter time than at B. We can say that time has reduced at A relative to B

In 1971, experimenters from the U.S. Naval Observatory undertook an experiment to test time dilation. They made airline flights around the world in both directions, each circuit taking about three days. They carried with them four caesium beam atomic clocks. When they returned and compared their clocks with the clock of the Observatory in Washington, D.C., they a difference of about 0.15 microseconds compared to the ground based clock.

This proved that time slows down when you increase speed. Further experiments took place with mu-mesons which are particles which last very short periods of time. This time period should not be long enough to travel to earth from where they are produced in the upper atmosphere. The only explanation is that time slows down when they travel at speeds. <>

Many mistakenly think that this is what you got his Nobel Prize for but he did not it was simply too controversial
