I have been a David Lloyd member for a few years now and, it’s fair to say that I used it fairly regularly until about a year ago. Since then, life has been getting in the way, with work and the ferrying around of little people taking up most of my waking hours (and a few sleepy ones too!).
When I do get that all important few minutes, my preference is to try to fit in some Geocaching which, on a good day might also combine with a hike or a cycle.
But now (eventually), I’ve had a flash of inspiration (flashes of inspiration come slowly to me - think more in terms of an eco friendly bulb coming on rather than a lightening strike). If I place a cache down by the club, I will HAVE to go down for maintenance purposes. And while doing that, I could also make use of the facilities. Genius right?
Now that should not be taken as a carte blanche to go breaking up or stealing the cache to encourage me down to the gym. I won’t feel bad if my maintenance visits are infrequent and irregular. I promise that I will still make the effort to get back on track with an exercise programme, with or without weekly repair visits.
And speaking of breaking up the cache, the container is not quite standard, and may or may not withstand the test of time – whether it does depends, to a large extent on you chaps treating it with a little TLC. Which would be very much appreciated. In return, I would advise that you exercise caution approaching the cache as the road can be busy here. Also, rolling down the hill, deliberately or otherwise is not recommended as you may end up on the road. And we wouldn’t want that.
One more thing - a tweezers or similar might be a good idea, unless you have REALLY small fingers. And BYOP.
And finally, the cache is accessible from the road side - it is not necessary to enter the David Lloyd premises.
