Geocache Description:

To access the shore line, this trail first meanders a short way down a gentle slope from the main parking area. You can also park a short distance away at the handicap accessible parking area to bypass the gentle slope. The two access trails meet at the Ken Hertz Gateway arch. Ken Hertz was two-term mayor of Bellingham from 1976-1984 and the first appointed director of Whatcom County Parks system from 1965-1975. This arch was constructed by the Whatcom County Parks in honor of our former mayor.

This cache is not at the arch but you will pass beneath it on your way.
