Cork Hill has for generations been the predominant area of residential life in Youghal. As the name says, it is a hill - and very steep at places, and nearly a mile long. As well as being the apex of multiple housing estates, it also plays host to the new 950-pupil school, the rugby club, a business centre, a number of factories (all idle), the local community hospital, and a shop/garage. Nearby are the new and very impressive GAA pitches and complex and the new Holy Family church.
The cache is tubular and magnetic, located off the hill on the short road leading to the community hospital. It is midway on the hill.
