This cache has been archived.

Growly Bear: As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

This cache is named after a cache GCNJ9D placed by "KiwiChris" very near here in April 2005.

Unfortunately it went missing a couple of times and was archived in November 2005. "KiwiChris" commented in his archive post “maybe someone else will be more inventive/adventurous than me” when placing a cache here. I hope I am up to the challenge!

The name “Transmission Alley” refers to the reserve that the power lines pass through. This was formed in the 1950’s when many of the houses in this area were built . The power lines were originally installed here in the early 1900’s to bring power from the Waipori Hydro-Electric Power Station to Dunedin.

The cache is a 350ml screw top container, it is camouflaged to try and prevent it going missing (and coincidently make it hard to find) so could you PLEASE TAKE EXTRA CARE WHEN YOU PUT THE CACHE BACK.
The cache is NOT hidden on private property, or on, under, or behind the nearby fence.
