Small container on Discovery Trail within the Nags Head Woods Ecological Preserve. No bushwhacking needed so none need be done. Please remember to sign the Guest Register at the Visitor Center near the Main Parking Lot.
You are looking for a small container hidden near Discovery Trail that is large enough for some GeoCoins or a couple of very small TBs. The 0.5 mile trail to a dock overlooking a pond is rated as an easy stroll but there are some slight elevation changes and fallen trees to cross. The 1,092-acre Nags Head Woods Ecological Preserve is a maritime forest located at the end of Ocean Acres Drive in Kill Devil Hills and was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1974. The Preserve is open daily from dawn to dusk every day with hiking trails are open for foot traffic only. GPS was at 9 & 10 foot accuracy at placement but the trees often cause considerable bounce. Cache is hidden along the trail so no need to wander about creating any geo-trails. Parking coordinates will take you to the Visitors Center where guests are asked to sign in. Log only, BYOP.
