Another hiltop cache in the California State forest. Some open, but steep bushwhacking required.
This is the fourth in a series of hilltop caches that we have placed in California Hill forest which was formed in 2007 by combining three separate MUAs. There are no trails or woods roads that take you to this cache, but it can be reached by a bushwhack through open, if steep, forest. There is a woods road that climbs the hill on the northwest side, but it does not go all the way to GZ. I prefer climbing the hill from the southeast side off the woods road that leads to California Hilltop. The cache is placed near the top of the hill and near, but not past a set of boundary markers (white posts) that appear to dlineate the boundary between the state forest and what I (bac) assume to be private land. The cache is an ammo can. As of the placement, it is poorly stocked as I left my bag of swag at home when heading out to place the cache.
