 La Punta Rognosa (3.280 m s.l.m. - Alpi Cozie)
è la più alta montagna della Val Chisone e si solleva maestosamente a Sud-Est del Colle del Sestriere lungo lo spartiacque tra la Val Chisone (valle laterale Val Troncea) e la Val di Susa (valle laterale Valle Argentera). Si dice che il nome "Rognosa" sia dovuto al vento che brontola (in dialetto “rogna”) fra le rocce.
Accesso: Dall'ampio piazzale (WP Parking) appena fuori l'abitato di Sestriere (2.035 m) passando prima su strada sterrata e poi su comodo sentiero immerso nel bosco si raggiunge dopo circa due chilometri la Diga del Chisonetto a 2.167 m. Da qui scegliendo la via diretta con sempre in bella vista la meta finale, si procede nell'omonimo vallone verso la parete Nord della punta Rognosa.
Il sentiero, ben marcato con segni rosso/bianchi s'inerpica su pendii erbosi accompagnando il Rio Chisonetto. Proseguire dritti salendo il canalone di detriti verso il Monte Sotto Rognosa. Nell'ultimo tratto la pendenza raggiunge anche i 40° e i segnavia lasciano spazio ad ometti di pietre più o meno occasionali.
In alternativa all'inizio del vallone si puo' scegliere di tenersi verso la sinistra per passare dal Passo Banchetta (2679 m) o a Destra verso il Passo San Giacomo (2683 m).
Arrivati in cima bisogna prestare la massima attenzione. La vetta della Rognosa è molto stretta, appunto una Punta e oltre la madonna e la croce metallica, vi è lo strapiombo!
Dopo il felice ritrovamento godetevi la splendida vista, tra l'altro sul Delfinato, il Monte Chaberton ed il Monviso.
Si prega cortesemente di risistemare il cache esattemente come è stato trovato sia per evitare che possa scomparire, sia per evitare che patisca troppo le intemperie quassù.

 The Punta Rognosa (3.280 m a.s.l - Cozie Alps)
is the highest peak in the Chisone Valley and rises majestically at the south-east of the Colle del Sestriere along the watershed between the Chisone Valley (tributary valley Val Troncea) and the Susa Valley (tributary valley Valle Argentera). It is said that the name "Rognosa" is due to the wind rumbling (in dialect "rogna" = "rumble") among the rocks.
Access: From the large square (WP Parking) just outside the village of Sestriere (2,035 m) initially via a dirt road and then on the easy trail through the woods you'll reach after about two kilometers the dam Chisonetto 2,167 m. Hence choosing the direct route with always in plain sight of the final location, you proceed in the homonymous valley to the north wall of the Punta Rognosa. The trail is well marked with red / white signs and climbs up the grassy slopes accompanying the Rio Chisonetto. Go straight climbing the gully debris to Mount Sotto Rognosa. In the last part the slope reaches even 40 ° and signpost leave room to more or less occasional cairns.
Alternatively, at the beginning of the valley you can choose to stay to the left to go along the Passo Banchetta (2679 m) or right to walk by Passo San Giacomo (2683 m).
Once you reached the peak, please be careful: The mountain is calles Punta Rognosa, while "Punta" means "tip". Indeed the peak is quite narrow and right after the Madonna and the summit cross, there's a deep cliff!
After the discovery enjoy the wonderful view on the Dauphiné, Mount Chaberton and Monviso.
