In 1927, 10 acres of swamp land now known as Binney Park was purchased by Edwin Binney, who donated it to the Town. Work commenced to transform it into a park, including the damming of two streams to make a pond and construction of a stone gazebo. In 1934, 10 acres south of the park were purchased, so a baseball diamond and tennis courts were added. A few years later, 10 acres northeast of the park were purchased and Helen Binney Kitchel Recreational Park was established (see cache GCN7MH).
Unfortunately, Binney Park has gone unmaintained for decades, but the Town is working on a long term plan, so hopefully the park will get some much needed attention and will be maintained in the future.
"Sunny day, sweepin' the clouds away, on my way to where the air is sweet. Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street?" This Sesame Street themed cache (Sesame Street trades are appreciated) is placed with the help of our two little gators. You are looking for a medium sized Rubbermaid lock-it container that would be most easily spotted by a little one since its near their eye level. I'd suggest you send any little ones in to find it as it's not the easiest on the back due to the need to bend over.
