Joshua Tree Traditional Cache

This cache is located on top of a hill just above the small hamlet of Feizor on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It can be completed on a short, 1.5-mile, loop walk from Feizor and offers stunning views which contrast the rugged landscape of the Dales with the lower pastureland and the distant rolling hills of the Forest of Blowland. The cache itself is a medium-sized snap-lock box containing a collection of small toys, etc.
The simplest way to get to the cache is from Feizor, where you can park on a small gravel area at the side of the road just past the ford (which may be dry in summer). From the ford follow the footpath signed for Scar Top and Stack House. This will take you on a bridleway up a hill, which can be steep in places. The land is also used for grazing sheep and cows and can be muddy when wet.
After about half a mile you'll come to a three-way signpost for Feizor (back the way you've just come), Stack House, and Buck Haw Brow. Continue along the path to Stack House for about 40m until it intersects an unsigned grassy path heading North towards a rocky outcrop and up onto a hill. Follow the grassy path towards the rocky outcrop and up to the top of the hill where you'll find the cache. From the cache you can either retrace your steps back to Feizor, or continue along the grassy path which will lead you to an intersection with the footpath from Feizor to Stainforth. Turn left at the intersection and follow the path back to Feizor. This makes a loop of about 1.5 miles and is well worth doing if you have the time as it offers some stunning views.
The cache itself is located in an area which is designated as Open Access Land under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act. However, it is actively used by two local farmers for grazing livestock, so please be considerate of the animals and respectful of the land. And dont forget to pause now and then and take in the views along the way.
