Geocache Description:

Who was Rotary Ann? And why did she build this place? Well, with this offset multi, you will learn the answers to those questions!

This cache is hidden at a nice rest area along Scenic Highway 7 where you can stretch your legs and feed your soul with a breathtaking view. And, while you’re there, you can find a couple of geocaches!

The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates. But at the posted coordinates, you will find the information needed to determine the coordinates for the cache. The actual coordinates for the cache are:

N 35 40.abc W 093 05.xyz

Answer the following questions to determine the missing numbers:

  1. How many official rest stops existed in Arkansas before this one? Your answer = “a”.
  2. What was the name of the local club that sponsored the construction of this rest stop? Subtract 1 from the number of letters in the first word of that name and you have the value of “b”.
  3. The name of this rest stop comes from a nickname for some relatives of the members of the local club mentioned in Question 2. Who were these relatives? (Hint – it begins with “w” and ends in “s”!). Subtract 4 from the number of letters in this word and you have the value of “c”.
  4. How many decades before this cache was placed was the need for this rest stop identified by the group mentioned in Question 3? Add 1 to your answer to get the value of “x”. (Hint: This cache was placed in 2012 and a decade is 10 years!)
  5. The club that helped develop this area is located in what city? Add 1 to the number of letters in the name of that city and you have the value of “yz”. (Hint – The answer for this one is in a different place than the answers for the others!)

You can check your answers for this puzzle on GeoChecker.com.

The cache is a regular-sized camo-painted container hidden in a traditional manner with a few trade items. If you take something, please leave something of equal or greater value so that the cache doesn’t become empty over time. Although the cache is placed in an area away from muggles visiting the rest stop, please use stealth when looking for it. After you have finished with the cache, please cover it back up with the natural material at hand so that it is not visible to anyone walking by.

Also, in the cache, be sure to get the coordinates for other cache in this rest area, “Rotary Ann Bonus Cache” (GC3YQKR). The coordinates may be found on the inside of the cache's lid as well as on the inside back cover of the logbook.

I hope you enjoy this cache! Please share your experience in your online log!
