Needed to change apartments recently, so had to go and see that well-known local telecoms company.
I went into the Al-Wakra shop, to find I was last in the queue. They said they couldn’t deal with my query, so they sent me to the Al-Rayyan shop, where I was at the end of the queue. I waited a while, then they closed, but they did tell me I could go to the shop in the City Centre Mall. I hurried over there to find myself last again. When I did get to see someone, they told me that the person I needed to speak to was temporarily at the Exhibition Centre shop. Well, you can guess what happened when I got there, end of the queue again, and after a while I discovered that the temporary person had gone back. Someone else did tell me to try the Al Saad shop, so off I went. Big queue, and I was at the end. Then they tell me that the documents I had were wrong, but I could go to the shop in Dukhan to get them sorted out. Drove out to Dukhan, where I was not surprised to find myself at the end yet again. Eventually, the man at the desk did help me out, but when he asked to see one of the forms, I didn’t have it, and remembered leaving it at Al-Wakra, so I then had to go all the way back to the shop in Al-Wakra, where I was at the end of the line, but did retrieve my lost form.
The Al-Rayyan shop was open again, so decided to go back there. Back end of the queue, as usual, and when I saw someone, they said they couldn’t process my documents there, but if I went back to the City Centre Mall Shop, the temporary man was back there, and he would definitely help. Another queue, and I find myself at the end. After a long wait, they tell me that the temporary man had gone again, but only to the Al-Wakra shop, so could I go back there, please. At least they said please. Back to the Al-Wakra shop, and after being at the end of the line, discovered he’d moved south to the Umm Said shop. End of the queue, no surprise there. I did get a result, though. They told me that if I went to the Exhibition Centre shop, and spoke to Mohamed, then went to the Dukhan shop, and speak to Mohamed there, and then finally end at the City Centre Mall shop, and hand everything to Mohamed, it could all be processed.
And so it was!
I visited 14 shops, but I did find what I wanted at the end.
