Okay, technically it's a stream and really in Gracefield but it's pretty close to Seaview, so never mind!
The Waiwhetu Stream was used for many years as a de facto sewer for industry waste. As a result it was contaminated with heavy metals, copper, zinc and pesticides that were hazardous to humans and the ecosystem.
In 2010 they completed 18 months of excavation after re-routing the stream 200m at a time in order to deepen and widen it, removing contaminated silt. Now they continue to landscape it to help protect the area and make a safe place for wildlife.
Stealth may be required. Be mindful of mini-cachers as the road alongside can be very busy at times (and of course there is a stream nearby).
You will need to bring your own writing tool.
