This is the fifth in my Motherlode cache series, so named for the bounty of film canisters I received from the electronics department at Fred Meyer.
12-Mile hill was a beacon in my youth. The Zim's market sign glowed like a brilliant red orb for miles, signalling that we were almost home. It was the highlight of any trip to be the first to spot the sign, and when they tore it down a piece of Gresham history went with it.
Now all that remains on this corner are three car lots, a gas station, Puff's Pub, and this place...the VCA Animal hospital. No need to leave the sidewalk or to go into the driveway to grab this one.
