Geocache Description:

This spot was the site of my very first find ever, Cache du Bois (GC1WDP2), on 07/26/2009 so it holds a special place in my heart!

El Hanzo and DogSoft arrived at my house around 11pm on July 26th, 2009 and were really excited about something they called an FTF. They had been talking about geocaching for awhile but I really didn't understand what all the fuss was about and apparently being first is a big deal. We made our way to the cache site with flashlights in hand. After a bit of searching DogSoft was able to come up with the find, and we were first! I'm not sure how many cachers can say that they were FTF on their first find but I can! I was immediately hooked and we went on to find a few more geocaches that night. More than three years and 4,000 geocaches later and I'm still hooked more than ever. I can thank my geocaching mentors El Hanzo and DogSoft for introducing me to caching and showing me the ropes.

I was in a bit of a dark place in 2009. Going through a tough job search and feeling quite depressed but geocaching gave me an outlet and allowed me to get out of the house and forget about all my problems, at least for a few hours. I truly believe that geocaching filled an empty spot in my life and still does to this day. I love all the caches I have found and all the great people I have met geocaching.

This cache has no special logging requirement but I would love it if finders would reminisce about your first find, give a shout out to your caching mentors or mention how geocaching has improved your quality of life.

Seek a small magnetic key holder containing a log and pencil.
Muggles abound so please use stealth.
Happy Hunting!
