Sears Bellows County Park. A medium size lock and lock clone at ground level under some sticks near a pond.
I finally placed my 100th hide after nearly 8 years in the game. It's taken me a long time because every time I make plans to go hide one, one of the local players puts some new ones out and I get distracted.
I chose this spot for my personal landmark for several reasons...
I've been hiking here since before I knew about geocaching. This was one of the first trails I hiked when I moved to LI.
This is very near one of my early, rather notorious caches, "Zero to Sixty".
And finally, I had a container from a cache I had just archived and didn't want to carry it very far.
I plan to hide some more non-micro caches in the woods in the coming months. I am feeling nostalgic for the days of ammo cans and big lock and locks.
