The cache was originally placed by the previous owner near a sign welcoming you to Wainuiomata. That sign has now been replaced by a new one in a different location.
A competition was held for the new sign in 2015 and this was won by Tamariki Ferguson who based his design on the Lord of the Rings.
As there is now no parking at GZ you will need to park in Parkway or Wainuiomata Road and walk up or if you are really keen for some exercise you can walk from the Lower Hutt side! If you use public transport Route 160 and 170 buses stop at the bottom of the hill on each side. Please do not park in the private carpark at the bottom of the hill at Parkway unless you have permission.
Cache is a 200 ml sistema container.
You will need to be very stealthy as GZ is not far from the walkway/cycleway. Please replace the cache carefully after signing the log
