This is an event sponsored by The Beargrass Geocachers, this will be 5th and final event of the year. It will be Saturday, November 10, 2012 and will start at 8 am. There will be breakfast kickoff cost of $10.00 per person. With Corn hole tournament and a Bowling tournament (cost is $5.60 to cover lane and shoe rental) to conclude this event at 2:00 pm.
You will cache the beautiful hills where the famous red-headed Cherokee warrior Chief roamed and conducted his murderous raids on early settlers before being killed in 1792 by Colonel Vincent Hobbs.
The ride will take you through coal towns more than 100 years old, down the original Trail of the Lonesome Pine, through the gaps of several mountains, past the Great Stone Face rock, so named by the Native Americans and by Benges Rock. There will be traditional caches placed along a 67 mile route, that will take cachers through Southwest Virginia, into Wise and Lee Counties. A beautiful drive through the mountains of which not many people travel these days. More to follow in the coming days.
