In case you're wondering, the official name of this cache is " I Came To Washington DC And All I Got Was This Lousy Peanut Butter Jar", thanks to a synical suggestion from a relative. This is a relatively easy cache to find - great for a beginner cacher. The trail entrance is beyond the grass (park property) at the parking coordinates.
The cache container - well, it WAS a peanutbutter jar, but has been transformed into a geocache with the magic of camouflage duct tape. The cache contains a logbook and pencil, along with trinkets to trade. Please return and conceal it the way it was found. It wasn't that long ago that we were introduced to geocaching by family members - Mortards. They are active geocachers in this community. We were given an opportunity to plant this cache on a recent visit, and wanted to do so as a tribute to them and their geocaching spirit. Our hope is that others may be tempted to give geocaching a try too. It is such a great way to spend time outdoors with family/friends and see lots of fabulous places along the way. So thanks Mortards for the geocaching adventures we've experienced with you so far (all out "cache madness"). May there be many more to come! Enjoy the hunt!
