Geocache Description:

This cache will require two visits, once at low tide and another at high tide.  You'll need a tape measure on each visit.  Free parking is available at the cache site.

This is a wonderful little park that previously had a cache called "The smallest park in the world".  Unfortunatley the cache had a history of being regularly muggled and was archived.

This earth cache can't be muggled and will bring everybody to this public park to analyze the tidal effect on the area.

Visit the attached link to determine the time of a low tide and a high tide that you will be able to visit.  On each visit, measure the distance in inches from the top of the cement walkway to the surface of the water.  Take notice of the visible marine life at both low tide and again at high tide.

Estimate the width in feet of the Blind Pass Inlet at this point. The length of the inlet from the mouth at the south end at The Gulf, to the Gulf Blvd bridge at the north end is 6440 feet. Based on these two measurements, and the difference between water levels at low tide and high tide, calculate approximately how many cubic feet of water enter Blind Pass with each tide.

From the vantage point at GZ, look at what has been constructed to eliminate the effects of erosion on the shoreline.

4. How is erosion combatted along the shoreline?
