The idea for the garden was formulated in 1995 by the Youngtown Rotary Club and today it is a most successful project with many gardeners taking advantage of their plots to produce some wonderful produce.
It’s a large garden as far as community gardens go, part of which occupies a northward facing slope to bring the year-round sunlight needed to grow vegetables and herbs in these southern reaches of the continent.
Wide, smooth paths take gardeners and visitors into the garden and to their allotments. The allotments are large enough to grow herbs and vegetables in quantity.
The cache is placed overlooking the community garden area and is serviced by a carpark a short distance away. The cache itself should be an easy find and is a medium sized black container with logbook, pencil and swaps.
