Geocache Description:

The cache is located on the very popular Camborne walkway that follows the northern shore of the Pauatahanui Inlet from Paremata Bridge to Grays Road. There is good parking at both Paremata Bridge and at Grays Road. GZ is closest to the Pascoe Ave entrance but parking there is limited.

The track itself is mostly flat compacted gravel and has several steep access points from the streets around Camborne. It is designated a dog exercise area by Porirua City Council however dogs are banned from the beach area between Paremata Bridge and Pascoe Ave during the day over the summer months. On any day, at any time you can’t travel far along this path without running into any number of “man’s best friends”. This is a beautiful coastal walk passes the brightly colored and frequently photographed Paremata Boat Sheds. According to the Porirua City Council the origins of these boat sheds date back to the early 1900’s when the building of the Paremata Rail Bridge turned this area into a popular weekend retreat for Wellingtonians. Today many of the boat sheds have been refurbished to provide a relaxing place from which people enjoy the water.
