Geocache Description:

A log-only cache along the bike path. This is the 4th hide placed while on a bike ride on Saturday mornings with friends. It might encourage South Bay cachers to place some hides closer to Santa Monica.

Kapu is a Hawaiian word used to forbid trespassing on private or sacred property. It's a warning that is taken seriously wherever posted. Before I was 10 yrs old, my grandfather had me making KAPU signs using paint on small sheets of scrap aluminum. He placed them around the perimeter of our pasture land.

For the past few Saturdays, I biked down to South Bay with a bunch of guys. I'm the only cacher in the group and have educated the others about my hobby. When they notice that I'm not with the group, they know what I'm up to. Yeah, I've taken some ribbing from them but for the most part, they are fascinated by it. Yet, none of them dare to get involved in the game, yet.

The cache is located in a nice area for water activities or just watching the activity in the water. Parking is not available at cache site. You can get here by bike, skates, or on foot. The bike path can be hazardous on busy days. Leave your bike and/or belongings on or next to the table rock on beach side of the bike path. If you come at night, wear clothing that is visible in the dark and bring a flashlight. Use stealth when retrieving the cache. BYOP. When returning container, please have cache concealed, but not too suspicious.
