Geocache Description:

Number 1 of a series of Nano/Micro caches in the undercached Melbourne suburb of Fitzroy (or thereabouts....)
This easy-to-find nano cache is placed at a little known Fitzroy landmark, a direct physical reminder of an on-going war at sea.

This cache is placed outside 288 Brunswick St, Fitzroy. The Australian offices of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, who, according to their website "uses innovative direct-action tactics to investigate, document, and take action when necessary to expose and confront illegal activities on the high seas."

The item you seek is a camoed Nano cache container attached to a "Can Opener". A Can Opener is a sharp inter-ship ramming device, specifically designed to open up the hull of the target vessel.
On 10th Jan 2006 the Sea Shepherd vessel Farley Mowet confronted the Japanese whaling fleet in Australian Antarctic waters. After an ultimatum from Sea Shepherd, the Japanese whaling fleet supply vessel "Oriental Bluebird" did not comply and was rammed by the Farley Mowet using this Can Opener "starboard hull to starboard hull". The damage from the collision can clearly be seen on the Can Opener at GZ. The Oriental Bluebird was only severely scratched in the incident, but not holed. The ship ran from the Farley Mowet disrupting the Japanese whale hunt for that season.

Please replace it exactly where you found it. It should be hidden high and behind.
