*gln: ARCHIVING ABANDONED CACHE

Greetings Semipaw,

Looks like our timing is off and It’s time to say goodbye to this cache.

Since I haven't any maintenance here in a very long time, I am going to assume that your priorities have changed and you’ve gone in a different direction.

Archiving due to lack of maintenance is permanent.
CACHE ARCHIVAL IS PERMANENT.

Let me know if I can be of assistance in the future.

Thanks a MILLION for all you have done, Glenn

Geocache Description:

This cache is for those of you who like a little challenge and adventure while out on the geocaching trail.  This is the next cache in my "View" series designed to take you to some remote and picturesque spots along the White River.  This one is located in Branson, in the Lakeside Forest Trail system.

DISCLAIMER:  This cache is not for everyone.  I've rated this a five star terrain.  While you do not need any special equipment to get to the cache, it does requiring scrambling up a steep hillside, and a little bit of climbing.  It's nothing too daunting.  Three of my kids made it to the cache location with me (including my seven year old daughter), but it does require some finesse and climbing.  Don't try this one in sandals, and take your time getting up to the cache location.

To get to this spot, you'll need to park at the Lakeside Forest parking lot and venture out onto the trail systems to the stone steps.  You'll go down, down, down the stone steps (all 338 of them) to a trail that runs along the White River.  You'll pass some huge bluffs, a huge waterfall (when its raining), lots of boulders, two neat caves you can go back into, and a bunch of trees.  It really is a neat walk, and worth the time just for the trek on this trail.  When you get to a certain spot you will have to leave the trail, and head up the hillside a bit.  Go through the crevice, and keep going up and you'll get to the spot.

This is a regular sized cache, and contains a logbook, a pen, and a few trade items.  A travel bug has been placed in here to start this cache off with.  As always on steep hillsides, GPS accuracy is not always the best.  Read the hint if you're having trouble...

Again, have fun, and use caution.  Happy caching...
