Notes about Day 8:

Three French Hens
Wow! The Three French Hens themselves have migrated from France to America for this holiday season. And they have settled right here in Berks County! They were originally planning on staying on Monocacy Hill but hunting season changed that idea. Now they have taken up residence on Neversink Mountain.
Rumor has it that the French Hens even brought their personal treasure chest all the way from France and have hid it somewhere on Neversink Mountain! To find their treasure you must visit each one of the French Hens who each hold the key to your progress toward the location of the chest. They might even have some tricks and field puzzles up their sleeves to test your mettle.
Begin your journey at the Klapperthal Trailhead listed below as a waypoint. Follow the purple blazes up the mountain until you see a wooden post sign that says "Jack's Loop". Then follow that trail and the red blazes to the first French Hen. Remember to stay on the trails while hiking on Neversink Mountain and to be aware of any private property signs. Also the preserve closes at dusk so please do not search for the treasure after that. The preserve is not a hunting area but access is granted to a select number of individuals for hunting during hunting season so please wear orange or go on Sunday. Good Luck!
