Geocache Description:

This geocache was originally placed as Day #9 for the Berks Explorer Seeking Tupperware 12 Caches of Christmas 12/12/12 event. The Event is over, but the cache lives on. *smile*

NOTE:  There is a hidden link to a video on this page that you will definitely want to watch before attempting this Night Cache, especially if the hunters in the area have "borrowed" any of the reflectors!  Hunters seem to have the notion that reflectors grow on trees! LOL

On the 9th day of caching, the Reviewer gave to me...

A Tack-y Woodland Walk

Star of wonder, star of night
Star with royal beauty bright
Westward leading, still proceeding
Guide us to Thy perfect light (or cache!)

Welcome to the 'Following Yonder Star' Night Cache.  To complete this cache, you will need to locate and follow 12 STARS that are hidden at Lake Ontelaunee.  The stars are made up of five reflector tacks.  The starting point (Star #1) is designated by five white tacks, and ground zero (Star #12) by five orange tacks.  The remaining 10 stars are a combination of three orange tacks and two white tacks.  The ORANGE tacks will guide you on your walk (Left, Right, or Straight) through the woods.  Sounds easy enough, right?

There is a catch though.  This night cache is also a field puzzle cache.  You MUST locate and keep track of all 12 STARS, and note the star number if it designates a LEFT TURN.  Only use the ones column for two digit stars.  Without these numbers, you will be surprised (and disappointed) when it comes to logging the cache.  Finding the container is not enough for getting credit for this cache; you must sign the log.  You can use the Star Tracker located on this page to help you keep track of the Stars.

Total round trip hike for this cache is 1.5 miles.

Please Note: Like most night caches hidden on State Game Lands, there can be reflectors everywhere.  A few single white tacks have been added to assist you along the deer path, but it is the stars that still will guide you to Ground Zero. The only bushwhacking would be at Ground Zero...follow the path(s) the rest of the way. You might want to view the hidden Virtual Night Cache tour that is on this page as a backup, in case reflectors are missing.

To start your journey, locate Star #1 and continue straight down the path.  Good Luck, and enjoy your Tack-y Woodland Walk.

The final is hidden in the woods, but since this is a Night Cache, it should be OK to attempt during hunting season after hours. Remember, Hunters wear Orange, and so should you.
