In loving memory of my dog of 10 years that I had to put down on 10/9/2012.
Scout was one of the best dogs ever. When we got her, we owned a bookstore in Madison, Wisconsin. She quickly became the bookstore dog. People would come into the bookstore just to see her. I was always surprised how many people had dog treats in their pockets at all times. She was the exact dog I wanted. When it was time for her to take a back seat, I'd simply tell her to go lay down.
Then, when she was about 3yo, I had my first child. She handled it with grace. She knew exactly where she belonged. Then, 2 years later I had twin boys. Now, with three boys getting older, she knew what to do to get out of their way. But when they were settled she'd come up and hang out with me.
She tore her ACL this summer, and at 10yo, with limes disease and arthritis, I didn't think it was time for her to go through a surgery. Unfortunately, the pain became too unbearable. We tried pain pills, but she lost tons of weight. She had a GREAT run. Was a perfect dog. And I will never forget her. RIP Scout!
This is a very easy P&G, in one of Scout's last pain pill containers. Enjoy!
