Geocache Description:

Originally called Sawpit Gully, Elphinstone was laid out in the 1850's but it never really had the grand developments seen in the nearby towns like Castlemaine.

The two claims to fame are the railway viaduct and the site of the first solar powered telephone tower tower in 2001.
I'm sure there are plenty of tales to tell and the place to hear those stories is here.
Spare a moment to listen to the bird calls and the wind in the trees with the pioneers of years past. The cache is a small container in an easy to find place with a little room for swaps.

This cache is in memory of my brother James who rests here.
