This is a monument dedicated to the contribution of the women of Zagori in the Greek-Italian war of 1940-1941. Those women, under contrary weather conditions and risking their lives, transferred on their backs heavy loads of food and ammunition to the fighters at the front line.

The statue was placed in 1993. (Sculpture artist: Kalakalas Georgios). It’s height is 6m and weights 1,7t.

The cache is a small tube that contains only a log book.


ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΑ:
Ένα άγαλμα αφιερωμένο στην συμβολή των γυναικών του Ζαγορίου στον Ελληνο-Ιταλικό πόλεμου του 1940-1941. Οι γυναίκες αυτές, κάτω από αντίξοες καιρικές συνθήκες και ρισκάροντας την ζωή τους, μετέφεραν στην πλάτη τους βαριά φορτία με τροφές και πυρομαχικά στους πολεμιστές στην πρώτη γραμμή της μάχης.

Το άγαλμα στήθηκε στη περιοχή τον Οκτώβριο του 1993. Είναι έργο του Θεσσαλού γλύπτη Γιώργου Καλακαλλά και το ύψος του φτάνει τα 6 μέτρα, ενώ το βάρος του είναι 1,7 τόνους.


Η κρύπτη είναι ένας μικρός πλαστικός σωλήνας που περιέχει μόνο σημειωματάριο.
