No response from the cache owner.

It has been more than 28 days since the last owner note.

As a result I am archiving this cache to keep from continually showing up in search lists and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Geocache Description:

This is the first in what will be a series of informative caches about little pockets of nature which have been preserved within this development for the wildlife and for the enjoyment of those who live here or visit.

This entire suburb and surrounding industrial area was nothing but grasy paddocks not much more than 10 years ago. Named after Caroline Chisholm (1808 to 1877) who was a progressive 19th-century English humanitarian known mostly for her involvement with female immigrant welfare in Australia (according to Wikipedia).

When you look for this cache take the time to have a leisurely walk around the lake. It's a surprisingly tranquil spot despite the houses bordering it and the traffic coming off the freeway at 80kph.

If you have kids or grandkids bring along some bread to feed the birds. I counted around 12 different species while hiding this cache from tiny swallows to the big native black swans.

The cache will not be difficult to find but there may be high muggle traffic at times and there are houses nearby so exercise stealth AND try not to drop it!

I used to live close by and would often bring my own kids here. When Caroline Springs was a small community this lake served as a community hub where various festivals and celebrations were held. Now it is largely forgotten among the thriving concrete jungle that Caroline Springs has become.

Access to the cache is wheelchair friendly but help will be needed to retrieve it if you are unable to stand at all so bring a friend.

I have a lot of ideas for future caches in this series - hope people enjoy them.

You will need to bring your own pen and a log extraction tool may come in handy.

Congratulations to Cubsgrasshopper for FTF. I understand it was a close call. Very exciting to see not one but two hunters looking for my cache as soon as it was published! Replaced the cache 20/06/2013 due to reports of possible "muggling". Please exercise stealth when retrieving and also bring along an extraction tool as the log is a tight fit. Note - I have recently replaced the original which seems to have gone missing.
