Geocache Description:

Since I figure most people don't know muuch about how your power makes it to your house after its made I thought I'd placeaA cache so that people can take a look at what a high voltage power stations looks like.

The power running into the station on the east side of the cache comes into the 'Transformer Station' from the high voltage transmition power lines, to the North, at 500,000 & 230,000 volts! When inside the station it is transformed down to a more usable voltage (ie 44000 or 27600 volts) after going through a network of f high voltage breakers the power would be sent to a Distribution Station like the one to the west of the geocache. The dristribution stations will transform the voltage down further and add a couple more breakers for protection. After all of this it is sent through a network of power lines that you would usually think of running along the sides of roads to where it reaches your community....

Check out some of these videos for the schoking realization of how dangerous these stations can be....
