Whilst Dalry is a fairly small town in North Ayrshire, many passers-by will never realise Dalry has a lovely park with a First World War memorial within it.
I take my kids here regularly and would definitely recommend you bring a ball or frisbee with you should you have kids.You can park your car at the listed parking co-ordinates should you wish.
As you walk through the park, you will not fail to notice the DSM factory which provides jobs for much of the local populace - this is the only factory in the world outside of China to produce Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) for worldwide distribution, and also produces Vitamin mix liquid forms. This factory was recognised by the UK Carbon Trust Standard, of which Greenpeace is a supporter, for it's green credentials.
To gain the co-ordinates for the first cache, please make your way to the monument, and find each of the following names, counting down from the top in each column:
A=Robert Barclay
B=Hugh Carmichael
C=Edward G Fulton
D=David Johnston -1
E=Daniel McB Muncie
F=Robert Steele
The first cache is located at N 55° 42.ABC W 004° 43.DEF. Once found, this cache will show the way to the next, which in turn will lead you to the final cache. The first two caches contain directions only, there is only one log to sign which is contained within the third and final cache.
The cache name should provide a clue as to how all 3 stages are hidden.
I hope you enjoy this, the first of hopefully many more caches.
Congratulations to Flyfishermanbob and chenks on first to find!
