Easy 0.35 mile walk with 10 ft of mild thickets, and oh yeah, Ghosts! The ghosts may add a small twist. Music CD's are included. Bring one for an exchange or exchange something else.
Before the Manasquan Reservoir was created, this was an isolated woody area. Today, they say the "Ghosts of Georgia Tavern Rd" are back there. There were a couple of shacks where a band of motorcycle gangs would hideout. The county wanted them to leave when the reservoir was being created. They wouldn't go so there was big trouble and violence erupted, shots were fired, and the shacks burned down. No one dares go there now. Sometimes at night, you can hear the motorcycle ghosts racing around and yelling and screaming. Do you still have the courage to make this journey? If you see the ghosts riding their motorcycles or hanging out at the old shacks, you best get out of there fast. For some reasons the GPS numbers jump around a bit back there, so you will have to look carefully at everything you see. I think the ghosts move things as well. I could hear them whispering when I was there. I hope you find the cache because I am never going back there again!
Directions:
Park at N 40.10.840/W 74.13.216. Take the trail along the road and then follow it into the park even though the GPS may say go straight. (The new nature center that will open soon.) Continue down the new squiggly trail. At 0.10 miles to the cache, spy your secret path leading off to the right. At this point you are on your own. I hope you make it out alive!
