Geocache Description:


I will try to make this short. Two years ago I was planning a cache on or near Horsethief Canyon. I picked out a spot. GC contacted me to tell me that someone else wanted to use that spot. I was given 30 days to put my cache in place. That wasn't going to happen so I looked around to see what else was nearby, Cary Peak popped up on my Radar. One failed attempt and two years later it is in place. It is an ammo can not to be confused with the summit log that isn't in a ammo can. The summit log is on the summit the cache is about 140 feet north/west of the summit under a granite boulder. The boulder has some red coloring on the top and side. There is also a benchmark on the summit.

Cary isn’t the easiest place to get to but on a clear day the views are AWESOME. Round Top, Sisters, Freel, Indian Creek Reservoir, Red Lake Peak, Stevens Peak, the list goes on, more peaks and stuff than I know the names of.

Have fun and please be safe. I made a wrong turn on the way back, cost me about 3 miles in back-tracking.
