Tired of park-n-grab caches? This one will give you a nice walk in the stellar J.B. Starkey Wilderness Park. Be sure to bring water to drink.
This is a short side trip off of a nice easy 3-mile loop trail where you will pass at least 5 different lakes and some great mostly-wooded trails.
The cache is just off of a side trail into the woods, and is an ammo can covered with the ubiquitous palmetto fronds.
Park at 28*15.565N 082*38.030W, and follow the brief paved path (bike trail connector) and then the blue bird trail markers to the 3 mile orange loop trail.
This area closes at dusk, so plan accordingly. If you have time, do the whole loop, as each side has distinct scenery.
March 3, 2004: It's back! The coordinates I got while visiting yesterday where N28°14.458 W082°37.565 so the posted ones, taken with my old GPS may be a little off. If you're close it's not hard to find.
