Click here, here and here to find out more about RAF Hercules XV 193 and memorials to the crew.

I would ask any Geocachers visiting Glen Loch to respect the crash site and memorial cairns. All the air crew of XV 193 died as a result of this accident.

Please do not remove wreckage parts as souvenirs.

This crash site and memorials are considered as a monument to those who died.

I would request that you respect their memory and remember their tragic loss.

The Geocache is on the Glenfernate estate and access to the cache is by a track from Daldhu in Glenfernate or from Loch Moraig in the hills above Blair Atholl.
Walking boots and warm clothing essential.

If parking at Daldhu please phone ahead to the Glenfernate estate and ask permission to park at Daldhu. Telephone 01250 881215.

The road to Daldhu is accessed from the A924 Pitlochry to Kirkmichael road.

As you approach Loch Loch along the track from the south, the crash site is located about 200 metres on the left hand side.

Loch Loch is a beautiful loch in the shape of a fiddle. At one point the two side of the loch almost meet and it is possible to cross here. The loch gets its name because there appears to be more than one loch.

It is very tranquil and the southern end of the loch has a rarely visited beautiful sandy beach.

Also, keep a lookout for the Golden Eagles which have Glen Loch in their feeding territory.
