Pine trees are very hard to find on Salt Spring, unless you look where people have planted them! As you hone in on the coordinates, you'll know you are getting close to the cache (and a place to park!) when you come to a small "island" featuring a bushy pine and a very healthy oak.
Once on foot, you are looking for a small trail that begins just uphill and across the street from the pine island, where two aged conifers, a cedar and a Douglas fir, grow side by side where they can look down at their non-native evergreen cousin. Follow the path until you cross a simple footbridge, then look for an obvious hiding place on your left!
