Geocache Description:

Cache Details
This is a two part multi-cache located in an interesting location in Franklin Gulf County Park.

I tried thinking of a good name for this cache for some time. All I could think of was what I said when I found this location - "wow." I stumbled across this place by accident, almost placed a cache nearby that is not half as neat. The views of the "Franklin Gulf" from the listed scenic view waypoint are awesome. Enjoy the area! The views getting to GZ of each leg is real nice. Some huge trees in here.

Park Information
Formerly known as Larkin Woods, Franklin Gulf County Park is a 637-acre, County-owned, undeveloped park in the Towns of Eden and North Collins. It is primarily a wooded area that has impressive topography and scenic natural features, such as creeks, ravines, waterfalls and ledge outcroppings. The topography is dominated by the “gulf,” a steep gorge which provides some great scenic views.

Franklin Gulf County Park Hours:
Winter Hours (Labor Day to Memorial Day) - 7AM to dusk.
Summer Hours (Memorial Day to Labor Day) - 7AM to 9PM.

Dogs are allowed in this park but must be curbed and leashed. This is a smoke free park.... 8-) Alcohol, Hunting, Mountain Bikes, ATV's, Camping, and Fires are Prohibited.

Parking & Suggestions
Park in the established parking lot on Larkin Road. Take the red or orange trail in to the Confluence, cross the creek. Then immediately walk up past my cache called Tranquility, continue going up the left side between the two ravines towards the Scenic View waypoint listed in the additional waypoints section. Enjoy the views and then head on over to the other side to leg one near another hidden ravine. That one is pretty deep too. Enjoy your hike in yet another awesome area of peace and quiet in Franklin Gulf County Park.
