Geocache Description:

This challenged is for any geocacher that has been geocaching devotedly for at least one year.

I will start the description of this challenge cache with a personal story. In school I was enrolled in the College of Business. As many of you may know a college usually requires a basic group of classes or core courses besides the specialized classes regarding the major you are enrolled in. This is a short introduction just to point out that although I did not major in Finances I had to take Principles of Finance or FINAN 450. Among all the principles and formulas I learnt, memorized and forgot already there is one particular topic that still lingers in my mind and helps me nowadays, especially when reading financial statements or watching the news about NASDAQ or the DOW or the S&P. RATIOS, people !!!

Ratios allow any common person like me have a quick glance and understand the performance of anything. Speed is the ratio between space/distance and time, pressure is the ratio between weight and surface or area, pulse is the ratio between the number of heart beats and time. Anyways it is a quick way to know how something is performing. It usually involves a scale that somehow determines how good or bad is the performance of the thing measured.

Well now that you are familiar with the term ratio here comes the challenge explanation of this cache. The requirement to get an smiley on this particular cache is very simple but it requires dedication. You need to have a minimum daily find rate of 3.0 in any year (starting January 1st and ending December 31st) since you started geocaching.

What is the daily find rate you may ask.

The daily find rate is the ratio between the total number of caches you found in any calendar year. You can obtain this ratio or find rate dividing the total number of caches you have found by 365 in any normal year or 366 in any leap year. In order to obtain a daily find rate of 3.0 you need to find at least 1095 caches in a normal calendar year or at least 1098 caches in any leap year. Sounds fun? Challenging? I am sure most of my fellow cachers already have reached this milestone or they are about to reach it this very year.

I personally reached this mark on the year of 2011 when I totaled 1111 caches found and scored a daily find rate of 3.0438 caches found per day. Now it is your turn to take onto this challenge if you have not scored yet this ratio. Notice that you don't need consecutive finds to score the requirement to log a smiley on this cache. You just need to total within a year at least 1095 caches found.
If you decide to come after this cache you will need to find the cache and sign the log. Then complete the requirement to get the smiley. To find the cache you will need to get to the parking coordinates. You will noticed a trailhead that takes you to the pond behind the nursery. The cache is hidden on the tree 20 feet from the parking coordinates. You will need to climb the tree and find a crack on the trunk. Hope that none squirrel has not decided setting its quarter in it.
