Returning from a trip down south, J&J saw WWII vintage planes re-enacting dogfights.
The National Capitol Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force maintains a hangar and museum at the Culpeper Regional Airport that highlights, but is not limited to, World War II aviation. Eight military aircraft are currently in the hangar. In addition to the assigned L-5 and BT-13 from the Commemorative Air Force, the NCS has a number of historic aircraft owned and operated by members that typically participate in the same events as the squadron, often giving them the opportunity to have at least 3-4 aircraft present. All are maintained in flying condition and participate in air shows during the summer months. Admission to the museum is free to the public and an “Open House” is held on the second Saturday of every month. The public is welcome at any time, although it is recommended that you call ahead to arrange a tour, as squadron members may not be available when the hangar is closed.
Enjoy!
Congrats to skipjoy10 for the FTF!!!
