This cache will take you to the Appalachian Heritage Museum. You are seeking a large container. The cache is available 24/7, and there is no requirement to go inside the museum. Parking is free.
The hours are 9-5 in winter, 9-8 in summer. When open there can be a lot of muggles about so please be careful.
The museum donated a keychain and fridge magnet as a first to find prize. I also put a John Grisham Racketeer coin to start it on its journey.
About the museum:
Started as a labor of love for the history of the Appalachian Mountians, the Appalachian Heritage Museum found its home at Mystery Hill in 1989. Originally located on the campus of Appalachian State University, it was formally known as the Dougherty House and was one of the first buildings erected on State University grounds. The Dougherty Brothers, D.D. and B.B., founders of Appalachian State University, called it their home. It was built on 150 acres donated by their father for the purpose of building a school to further the education of mountain children. It was the first house in the county to have electricity and running water. It is now used to portray life in the late 1800's to early 1900's of middle class mountain families.
Once arriving at Mystery Hill the house was restored to its original status and renamed the Appalachian Heritage Museum. House within these walls are memories of life inthe 19th century.
